Smart Bevel
One of the most significant additions is the new Smart Bevel tool. This feature works similarly to a traditional bevel but is designed to handle much more complex geometries, such as those generated through boolean operations.
Its main purpose is to solve cases where the old Chamfer modifier would fail. Smart Bevel generates a new, clean intersecting mesh that adapts to the object’s geometry, producing optimized soft edges.
This results in much greater flexibility when working with hard-surface models, especially in high-detail production scenarios.

Extrude Modifier Improvements
This update also enhances the Extrude Modifier by introducing new extrusion directions.
Previously, users were limited to extrusion along the Z axis. With this update, extrusion can now be controlled using a gizmo, allowing users to define custom directions and angles.
This small but impactful improvement provides more control and reduces the need for workaround operations.
Spline Chamfer Modifier
Another improvement involves the Chamfer Modifier for splines, which now supports a fixed radius option for circular corners.
Previously, the chamfer radius was distance-based, meaning that variations in spline segment length could result in inconsistent corner curvature. With the new fixed radius option, corners maintain a constant radius regardless of segment length.
This leads to cleaner and more predictable spline-based modeling.

Noise Plus
A major highlight of this release is Noise Plus, an upgraded noise modifier that significantly expands control over surface variation within the modifier stack.
Unlike the previous version, Noise Plus introduces multiple modes:
- Wall Mode: where noise is no longer tied to object position, allowing objects to move freely while maintaining consistent noise patterns.
- Reference Mode: which lets users define the noise gizmo using external helpers or objects.
Additionally, Noise Plus includes:
- Fractal types based on simplex noise for more natural patterns, with some types including phase controls for easier animation
- Tileable noise across X, Y, and Z axes
- Options to invert the noise, set a random seed for each element, and apply the noise along the object’s normal direction.
These improvements represent a significant step forward in procedural modeling and animation workflows.

New Field Helper
Another key addition is the Field Helper, a system designed to improve geometry manipulation and selection.
This tool acts as a 3D volume that works in combination with the Volume Select modifier, enabling faster and more accurate selection on complex geometries.
Field Helpers can take multiple shapes, such as spheres, toruses, and cylinders, or even use existing scene objects as selection volumes.
They can also carry different types of data (Float, Point3, or maps from the material editor), which can be linked to object properties such as position, rotation, scale, or even material attributes.
Thanks to the new Field Pro control system, these data-driven interactions can also drive animations, making Field Helper a powerful tool for both modeling and motion workflows.

Autodesk Assistant
A particularly useful addition is the Autodesk Assistant, an integrated AI chatbot.
This tool helps new users approach the software more easily, while also supporting more advanced users by assisting with tasks such as script generation or troubleshooting workflows.
It represents Autodesk’s move toward integrating AI directly into production environments.

Viewport and Display Improvements
This update also introduces several visual improvements to the viewport:
- A solid color background replaces the previous gradient
- Colored axes improve spatial readability
- A more stable and predictable grid system
While minor, these changes enhance clarity and usability during everyday work.
